A new mechanical design for the experiment

The change of the new team has quickly been followed by a change in the mechanical design of the boxes.

Originally, it was planned to construct the box with aluminium slates that would be soldered with each other. Yet, faced with the difficulty in finding a way to solder aluminium with a minimum cost and in the shortest time limits, the team had to look for a solution that would both respect the weight limit and the deadline fixed in September. The boxes will finally be made with profile bars and aluminium plates fixed on them with a screw-nut system.

Once the boxes are constructed, we will be able to assemble all the components (sensors, battery, electronics…), and start running tests.
